Interior designers know how to make art of normal rooms while making spaces just work. Its all about the light, texture, color and three dimensional arrangements that contribute greatly to the way humans respond in any environment, whether it be at home, at play or in their day to day work spaces.

The Bachelor of Science degree program in Interior Design (BS), offers students the opportunity to learn foundation art skills, contract / commercial design, drafting, residential design, and furniture history and design to help them solve a clients problems. Students will develop nessessary abilities in all aspects of design of three dimensional residential and commercial spaces.

Students start with courses in perspective, proportion, color theory, drawing, basic design and other fundamentals. The program also incorporates courses in 3-D and 2-D computer aided design (CAD), the history of Interior Design and cultural contexts, materials, furniture design, textiles, architectural detailing, environmental systems, lighting design, building codes, computer rendering, 3-D modeling, accessory design and other topics related to the design field. 

As a graduate of the Interior Design program, you will be ready for an entry level position in interior design, such as: a commercial designer, residential designer, facilities designer, showroom manager, computer aided draftsperson, project manager, exhibit designer and specialty designer in kitchen, bath, lighting, product, and furniture companies.
