The New England Institute of Art Graphic Design School in Boston Massachusetts MA
The New England Institute of Art offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and also a sepetate certificate of Completion in Digital Graphic Design.
BS Graphic Design Degree (4 year)In the first year, you'll begin your graphic design education with classes in Fundamentals of Design, and Concept Development and Drawing. You will then continue to build your design foundation through Illustration, Typography and Digital Photography. You will sharpen your digital design skills with classes in Digital Imaging, Digital Illustration, Electronic Design and last but not least, Web Design. You will further develop your skills with specialized classes in advertising, marketing, packaging, corporate communications, media graphics and printing.
In addition, you will experience life as a graphic designer with an internship at a design studio, advertising agency, or in house corporate design department in the "greater" Boston area.
Qualified students can sign up for the Graphic Design Studio and work with not for profit organizations to create promotional materials from concept to print.
By graduation, you will possess the knowledge and skills nessessary for an entry level position in Graphic Design.
Digital Graphic Design Certificate ProgramThe "Digital Graphic Design Certificate" will introduce you to the fundamentals of digital graphic design and is geared toward those who wish to enhance and/or elevate their skills and creativity. You will be taught conceptual design of effective communication materials through the use of visual elements such as; color, typography and visual relationships. Course content is designed from concept to product delivery, with the most recent and relevant industry standards in mind.
Faculty members work in the fields they teach and therefore can update students on current industry demands and best practices in a hands on setting.
