The Western Career College Dental Hygiene program is ready to prepare you to excel in the challenging but yet rewarding career of a Dental Hygienist. The instruction includes assessment of the patients general and oral health, stain and calculus (tartar) removal, removal of plaque, dental radiography (dental x-rays), administration of local anesthesia, oral hygiene instruction, application of preventative agents (fluoride) and dietary counseling.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be ready to take national written and regional clinical exams leading to their license. Career opportunities for graduates will include: clinical positions in dental offices, hospitals and community dental clinics, public health agencies, educational and administrative positions; and research and marketing of various dental related products.
